Marine Corps Air Station Miramar is home to the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing which is part of the 1st Marine Expeditionary Force. Marine Corps Air Station Miramar was the former home to the TOPGUN pilot training program and the movie of the same name. The school was relocated in 1996 to the National Air Station Fallon in western Nevada and is now part of the Naval Strike and Air Warfare Center. The primary mission of the station is to provide services and support for its host wing and other tenant commands. Marine Corps Air Station Miramar is located in Miramar, San Diego, California, just north of downtown San Diego.
Once checked in with the housing office, service members will be placed on a waiting list which can vary up to 24 months depending on the housing selected. Call the housing office at 619-556-9610.
