    Care after normal working hours can be obtained by dialing 911 for emergencies or visiting Naval Medical Center San Diego's Emergency Room.

    --FAMILY PRACTICE CLINIC--
    Qualified registered family members may be seen by appointment only at the Family Practice Clinic aboard Miramar. To make an appointment, call (619) 532-8225.


    Clinic hours are from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday and on Fridays, from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

    --ACUTE CARE INFORMATION--
    There is no appointment necessary for urgent conditions.


    For emergent or life threatening conditions, call 911 or go to Naval Medical Center San Diego Emergency Room directly.

    --OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH--
    Provides medical certification and medical surveillance for active-duty military and Department of Defense civilian employees.


    Provides acute care for work related injuries and assistance with worker's compensation practices.


    Occupational injuries and illnesses are provided on a walk-in basis.

    --OPTOMETRY--
    *Eye exams
    Active duty eye exams and spectacle ordering. The following frames are available for active duty service members: frame of choice, aviator frames, submariner frames and gas mask inserts.


    The following frames are available for reserve service members: standard issue, aviator frames, and gas mask inserts.


    Retirees may order standard issue spectacles only. They also must have had a prescription given within the last year.


    Optometry exams are part of the following physicals:
    - Flight
    - Student Naval Aviator Candidate
    - DODMERB
    - Air Crew Candidate
    - 5-year physicals
    - Re-enlistment
    - Separation/Retirement


    Walk-in basis for physicals on Wednesday from 7:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.


    Appointments are necessary for all other optometry exams. The office staff will accept walk-ins for spectacle ordering and pickup. For more information call (858) 307-9896/9895.


    The average turn around time for prescription spectacles is two to three weeks. Spectacles can be made on "same day" basis for emergencies.

    --PHARMACY--
    Provides services to active duty service members, retirees and eligible family members.


    Prescriptions are filled using a number system. Patients check-in at the front window, then are asked to have a seat until their number is called.

    For CIVILIAN PRESCRIPTIONS: Monday thru Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

    --MIDWIFE'S CLINIC--
    Provides annual gynecological exams and scheduled obstetrical visits.


    Provides general female health education, counseling, and treatment for gynecological and obstetrical health concerns. Services include:
    - Pap smears
    - Sexually Transmitted Diseases
    - Contraceptives (Depo-Provera, Birth Control Pills, etc.)
    - Pre-Natal counseling
    - Breast exams and breast care information
    - Pre-natal Care
